As many of you have heard, the Edmonds Chamber is attempting to bring back our "An Edmonds Kind of 4th" celebration. We are on an accelerated timeline, planning the event in 4 weeks with 2/3rd staff verses a normal year of 5 months with a full staff. A monumental effort indeed.
We need your help...
Pandemic-induced price hikes on everything from portable toilets to paying Police holiday overtime are adding an increasingly heavy burden on producing the events this year. The Chamber is facing additional 10’s of thousands of dollars on top of usual event costs to produce the 4th of July events. While the Edmonds Kind of Hero Campaign raised the necessary funding to keep the Chamber alive through the pandemic, reserves still do not exist to cover these unexpected extra costs.
A few examples:
Port-O-Potties normally $5,000... NOW $10,000 Fireworks normally $14,000... NOW $20,000 Golf carts normally $750... NOW $1,200
The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is an independent non-profit. We are not a government entity and receive no direct tax dollars.

PLEASE NOTE: Any decision to cancel the parade will solely be based on the number of entries. While some costs have increased due to inflation and other factors, we are fully committed to moving forward and absorbing those costs. We have to weigh whether to take on the extra costs against low parade entries.
The City of Edmonds has bent over backwards to help us bring the events back, fast tracking the process for permit approvals. Each year we employ and pay for the police department to keep our streets and people safe during the festivities. We are grateful for the creative ways they schedule and bring in outside resources to meet the huge demand. The Mayor’s office and City Council have graciously contributed over the years to help offset and lower some of those security costs, which is always a welcome and appreciated gesture of support.
The generosity and excitement of the Edmonds community is something to behold. We are honored to be a part of these important celebrations and traditions.
