Housing Commission
The Citizens’ Housing Commission was appointed this fall and meets regularly on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Brackett Room of City Hall. The meetings are also live-streamed at: https://www.citizenshousingcommission.org/, so you can watch from almost anywhere. (Videos of past meetings are saved on the website too.)
The Commission’s initial meetings have focused on gaining a common understanding of housing data, local needs, existing and potential programs, and the legal framework that applies. In the coming months, the Commission will be working to develop draft housing policy recommendations. These will be provided to the City Council at the end of 2020. In 2021, the City Council will start considering the Commission’s recommendations. Throughout the process, community engagement is encouraged.
